Waste Information System Implementation guidelines 

This link enables the user to access the WIS Framework and Implementation Guidelines. The Implementation Guideline illustrates the step-by-step procedure to register as a user on the Central Registry, as well as the information requirements and how to report data to the SAWIS.

• In 2006 the SAWIS was piloted in 2 provinces (Mpumalanga and Eastern Cape) while in 2007/8 SAWIS is further rolled out to identified districts.
• In 2007/8 SAWIS is further rolled out to 3 provinces (KZN, Free State and North West).
• In 2008/9 SAWIS is further rolled out to 2 provinces (Limpopo and Northern Cape)
• 2009/10 SAWIS Alignment with Gauteng & Western Cape Provincial Waste Information Systems
